Blizz does pumpkin contests each year! maybe someone will enter this year? (<<has been askin this for a couple years now.. tsk tsk..) /giggle...

The Royal Photographic Society of Azeroth is renewing its competition in celebration of Halloween. In a longstanding Blizzard Entertainment tradition, this year we’re proud to announce our sixth annual pumpkin-carving contest (http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/contests/08-10-pumpkin/contest.html).

Between 12:00 a.m. PDT on October 8 and 11:59 p.m. PDT on October 28, the RPSA will be accepting submissions for the pumpkin contest. The shutterbugs who submit the most outstanding photos of their work will have their pictures proudly displayed on WorldofWarcraft.com and Blizzard.com on Halloween. In addition, the five most interesting, original, and well-carved pumpkin designs will be recognized for their merits with a Logitech G51 Surround Sound Speaker System designed specifically for gamers. Special thanks go out to Logitech (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/gaming/) for these prizes!

Pumpkin submission tips:

The winning entries will display high levels of originality, craftsmanship, and humor.

Your pumpkin must be lit up by a candle or other light source in your photo entry. You can show another photo of the pumpkin unlit if you wish.

Pumpkins must be related to World of Warcraft or another Blizzard Entertainment title.

Try to take the best picture possible, as picture quality helps make a good impression on the judges.

Make sure you tell us what the pumpkin is supposed to be in the caption, just in case it’s not clear.

every year I post this and hope to see ya'lls' pumpkins or get motivated to try to make one. I.. honestly can't say when the last time I have tried to do a pumpkin.. short of 16 or so years ago. Might.. have to try to break that this year!.. I just.. have to .. think of something to carve?! that's not too hard? !

I may regret posting this but...I have carved a pumpkin before. it was pretty cool. a witch with a moon and bats flying around. or something like that. dont remember for sure couse it was a few years ago. it wasnt as hard as i thought it would be. just traced a picture/pattern and cut it out.

Hallow's End is almost upon us, and with that comes flimsy masks, a chance to be named The Hallowed, and a shot at looting something more cute than sinister. Even if you miss out on this seasonal in-game pumpkin pet, you still have the chance to befriend this small squashling IRL.

Here is what you will need:

* Small (Fake) Pumpkin
* Small Stick
* Fake Leaves
* Vine Wire
* Acrylic Paint
* Hot Glue Gun
* Wire Cutters
* Paintbrush
* Pencil

The details of this contest are simple; carve a pumpkin that makes a reference to any of my movies, songs or characters. I created a squashling pumpkin, but sadly it committed suicide last night and jumped off my counter before I took pictures.

I pulled my back before doing our pumpkins today.. I hope to do them tomorrow, although I did notice some spotting on the back of one.. Could be scary to open up!

need to hit the craft store forthe rest of the mats, i think for squashling.. ran out of strumph during errands on friday to do that (and forgot the shopping list for it..)
