Hi guys,
I haven't been on the past few days because it appears my account has been hacked. Aaaaand I just heard from the wife that my toon went on a bank run.
I have a ticket in right now to get control of the account. I hope that I'll be able to get some of my gear and gold back and have whatever was taken out of the bank restored. I'm sorry about this and am still trying to figure out how they got access. Uhleeseeuh's account got stripped down as well, so I suspect a keylogger.
To make matters worse, I can't even log into account management to change my password, because whoever hacked me has already merged the account with a battle.net account (which does not belong to me) effectively locking me out of signing into the game as well as the website. So we'll see how long it takes them to get back to me, and I'll update you all as soon as I can about getting the bank stuff back.

no worries.. just take care of your toon. and.. hope.. uhm.. /giggle..
we have reason to believe sonrisa is not in kansas anymore ;)
just get your tickets in, try to have a stressfree week.. and don't worry about us/bank. blizz will take care of it

hmm. I'm not sure.. did a good number on the rock and cloth tab.. left paper alone.. grabbed the blues from the gear.. and select stacks of raw and cooked food.
sonrisa.. is not in guild... nor.. on the server anymore..

I know its hard but try not to stress over it. I got hacked back when 60 was the cap, and they got all my stuff, gold back. It took a week or 2 but it all was returned. I figure they have greatly enhanced their ability to deal with this kind of thing by now so like Lusty said...dont wory about it. Blizz will fix all.

I wonder if they raided my banker toons as well. Oddly enough, when Alicia got hacked they only went after her main. You'd think a toon with the name "bankerwanker" would be an obvious target, but they left it completely alone. Then again, they probably don't speak any English, so the significance could have been lost on them.

Update - So I spent the last four days waiting for Blizz to respond to my email. They finally got back to me this morning and told me that the email address on the account did not match the one I was using (obviously, it has been changed), so I have to call their customer service line. Basically, the last four days of waiting did nothing, and I am back to square one.

Not so long ago, I was having a real problem with being hacked. Blizzard has a Key code device ( gotta go through security to get one after account is fixed. Costs about $9.00. After I got mine I have not had any problems with hackers. It has a number generator and it is coordinated with a code generator at Blizzard. The correct number changes about every five minutes or so (best guess).

This morning i spent a half hour working through their automated phone system. When i finally got to the right place for compromised accounts, they said "This issue is best handled in game. Sign into the game and contact a GM."
So the only other option left is this account recovery form, which I just filled out, scanned, and sent to them with my ID. Possibly complicating this further is the fact that my address is different now than the one on my ID, and the fact that the hacker already merged the account with a battle.net account.

I got a couple of emails with customer service satisfaction surveys last night. I'm unable to log into the game to find out what Blizz has done, but this could mean they restored some things. Are the guild bank items back now?

Also, when blizz mails you your gear back, does anyone know if they also give you back all the enchants you had? I had a good 2K gold wrapped up in the enchants I had on Sonrisa, so I'd hate to have to run around and get all those enchants back again.
