Couple of days too late now, I realize... but I was able to get the quest for the "pet" in Dalaran and did not have to travel to Darnassus.

But it seems you do need to leave Dal to purchase milk for baking the bread? I couldn't find in anywhere in Dal.

Re: The Pet... who still has their lil' maraca skelly? I was able to pull mine out last nite even though he says right in the tool tip "Requires Day of the Dead."

Just an FYI.. you have to go to the graveyard for your race in order to get the quest. You can get the achievement at any major city graveyard though.

The graveyard for Darnassus is to the north just before leaving the city on the east side. Stormwind's is of course on the way to Goldshire. I have no idea where the Ironforge and Exodar graveyards are.
